how to: ways to take your blog to the next level

As most of you know, blogging can be extremely overwhelming and time consuming. Like any other business out there, you need to put in the time, effort, and work to run a successful blog.
I have learned a lot over the past few years and have definitely made a TON of mistakes along the way. I am still working on my blog and not yet reach my potential in this field. Honestly, there is not a right or wrong way to blog. But, there are better practices and ways to take your blog the next level especially for newbies (including me) since my blog is personal and way of expressing my thoughts and ideas.

So shall we take the blogging experience to the next level?
1. Figure out the 'WH' questions.  Ask yourself: Who are my audience/readers on my blog? What is/are the purpose of my blog?  What makes my blog unique? How will my blog standout from other blogs? How will I create more post relevant to my blogging purpose/s?
2. Make a flow chart and categorize your topic.  Organize all your blog post in one place. Make sure to put label and narrow down the topic depending on your interest and it will be easy to your target audience.
3. Make your posts easy to read.  Use short paragraphs and sentences to make it easy to follow along. Keep your writing style conversational as if your face to face with your audience. Simplify your words  and vocabularies. It's even good to include lists and bullet points so that your readers can easily skim your article.
4. Keep the design clean and simple yet eye-catchy.  When someone land on your blog, is it easy to navigate? Is the design of your blog can easily understood of what is the context of your blog? For example, if your blog is all about fashion and beauty - will you make a blog design that is all about food? Of course not! Your blog should resemble with the design.
5. Images need to have a good quality. Yes! Your post should have a pinneable and shareable photos for social network. Re-do/photoshop your photos if necessary.
6. Promote all your post. In order for your blog to go to the next level you should promote it. Scan yor archive and promote it on all your social media.
7. Invest in yourself and on your blog. If you plan to go on a successful blogging career. Hey! Spend a dime. The industry of blogging changes frequently, Yes! I am stressing out on new trends and continuing education program on blogging specifically on new technologies and applications on photo editing and enhancing your writing skills.
8. Post frequently. Wether its once a week or seven times a week, keep it consistent. Your readers will check your blog frequently. If you can't update your blog sooner or later, its good to atleast inform your readers that you are up to something new.
9.   Make new friends with your readers/bloggers.  Create a tribe,  networking bloggers or mastermind group  where you can share your innovative thoughts and get incredible  ideas from others.
10. Have a schedule and daily routine. Discipline is the key. Take your blog as a regular job. You have to set a time/day for your blog.
11.  Be S.M.A.R.T.  You have to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and set time-table for your blog. Blogging takes a 101% creativity, energy and time. List down all your blog mission and values statements. Create a plan attack to be S.M.A.R.T on your blog.
12.  If you have it, flaunt it! Because of the fast changing world, sometimes we can't caught up with the new trends and we are left behind. So if you can't catch up the trend, make your own trend and follow the 1-11 on how you will take your blogging to the next level.
The questions is, are you ready to get serious with your blogging career?
