I Choose You, Always

To My Always

I’m currently listening to Sara Bareilles’ “I Choose You.” It’s the song on our wedding video. You were laughing when I chose it—you said, “I choose you, Pikachu!”
So tell me… should I just be Pikachu then?

Today is our wedding birthday.
365 days and counting to forever.
I’m so grateful you didn’t run away that day. Oh, I remember you were planning to ditch me, weren’t you? I saw you! Hahaha! Well, you can’t run away from me. I’ll hunt you down until the end of time.

You know what? You are amazing.
How did you tame me?
How did you manage to calm and love a dragon like me? Hahaha!

One lifetime is not enough to love you. In our next life, I will still look into your eyes, and we will still choose each other. I will still choose you, because why not? You make my days as clear as a blue sky. I won’t write a cheesy love letter here, but know this: I love you too, to the moon and back.

Looking Back on That Day

The night before our wedding, I kept checking the weather. I was really worried, it didn't look promising. I was also worried that you were sick. Good thing you felt better after resting early.
I slept late because I had to finish my DIY wedding bouquet, and when I finally did, it was perfect!

The next morning, it was pouring. I was afraid the rain wouldn’t stop before our 2 PM ceremony. We woke up at 6 AM, had breakfast at the hotel dining area, and started preparing—photo and video shoots, hair and makeup. As I put on my wedding gown, I told myself, “This is it. This isn’t a rehearsal. This is real.”

I’m really grateful for my two girlfriends who supported me that day. They were my bridesmaids. A few more friends came to witness our ceremony. We had an intimate wedding—20 people, to be exact.

Our vows?
Well… I cried. Not because I was scared to get married, but because I was sad our parents couldn’t be with us on such a special chapter of our lives. Still, we managed to laugh and smile through it.

The reception was so f*cking lively. I danced my heart out. The food was incredibly delicious. We played wedding games and just enjoyed ourselves. It was a perfect night for us.

And of course… the night ended in bliss. We went back to the hotel and consummated our marriage. Hahaha! You know what I mean.

A wedding is a human tradition—an event to let the world know, and to acknowledge before the law, that two people choose to spend their lives together. It’s a celebration of not being alone at night anymore, and of waking up with someone beside you.

My wedding was beautiful… but I want my marriage to be even more beautiful than the wedding itself.
It won’t be perfect every day, but I want our marriage to grow stronger every day.

Here are some of our wedding snippets (I just chose a few).
